Beauty and the Beast: Diary of a Film

Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bete) is probably Jean Cocteau's most beloved film. This book, covering the period from August 26, 1945, the day before the shooting was to begin, to June 1, 1946, the day after the film was first shown privately in its final version, is Cocteau's diary of the making of the film and of the lives o f those who made it.
